BIT OF A RANT: While I like the work of NanceGreggs, Bob Geiger,
Edited on Mon Sep-18-06 01:51 PM by Radio_Lady
and BobCatJH, would someone please explain why their journals are almost continuously linked to the front page?

A couple of people whom I directed to http://www.democraticunderground.com -- specifically asked me if the "two Bobs and Nance" actually run the place? I think that -- with 94,000+ registered members and a large number of journals -- whoever is choosing or editing this top page could give us a larger RANGE of CONTRIBUTORS!

From now on, I am going to send interested people to: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/ rather than the home page. I think it has a better look for possible members and those who are querying me about the site. Just a thought...

Thank you for listening.

In peace,

Radio_Lady

PS. If it's not a problem, I'd like to cross post this to the General Discussion forum. Appreciate your compliance...

1. good question
curious myself. only 'cause I like reading non-political stuff in people's journals more than anything. Rants, kvetches...that sort of thing. Or even when people wax philosophical about stuff. But I have a thing for writing anyway. I have only noticed one of the above but I just assumed there was a good reason.

4. No idea what the "good reason" could be. Does anyone else?

There are quite a few journals that contain individual posts that could easily have appeared on those pages.

What is the basis for each post each day? Are their standards that have to be met -- or simply (I'll raise that ugly word...) "favoritism"???

Thanks for listening.

5. they are listed as most viewed below the top ten
http://journals.democraticunderground.com/

but is that because of the linking or is the linking because of that...chicken or egg kind of thing I guess.

2. Frankly, I wish I wrote that well.
To be perfectly immodest, I have my moments of brilliance and clarity, but I'm not what you'd call a "Yeoman" of the scribblers.

I AM terribly jealous though. I used to get published and linked a lot more than I do now. Guess I'm getting old.

6. Tyler, I've glanced at your journal this morning. I see SEVERAL
of your contributions over the past few months that are quite intersting.

It would be just a coin flip between your commentary and those that actually were posted.

Don't blame this on your age, friend.

Unless you are actually on the edge of dementia -- but that can't be the cast. Your words make sense and I hope you continue into a grand old age with all your mental faculties.

I'm heading for my seventh decade! I hope I get to type something incisive -- or frivilous -- on the day I die!

Thank you for listening...

In peace,

Radio Lady
