10. I find it to be one of the worst animated, unfunny, uncreative

awful cartoon shows there is - just another drop in the ugly bucket of awful animated shows on the air right now.

I posted on this a month or so ago, asking the question why is so much current animation not only ugly and cheaply, horribly done, but why is the writing on these so-called humorous cartoon shows so totally unfunny? Painfully unfunny?

It's like they're trying to be "hip" and "edgy" and "pushing the envelope" but all it comes out as is the stilted trying-to-be-cool of a college sophomore who thinks he's hot shit because he's read a book by Nietzsche and he did a beer bong for breakfast. Whoooppppeee!

and yes, many, many new cartoon/animation shows are painfully unfunny.

in some respects, they CAN be funny, but the appeal is very base, vulgar, and crude (not that there is anything wrong with that). it just seems, like you said, they are trying TOO hard to be hip, edgy, or pushing the envelope.

case in point: robot chicken.

i've heard many people extoll the virtues of this very nonsensical (in the bad way), tries too hard turdfest.

the appeal is almost one of desperation. the attempt at humor is so over the top, so ill-considered, that i almost start feeling sorry for the show rather than laugh at it.

my humor falls in that category too - familiarity often breeds contempt.

The only truly funny moment IMO (full disclosure — I have not seen every episode) is when Foxy lit a cigarette with a purple light saber. :rofl:
