Anybody ever call an arrogant person on their arrogance?

For instance, I used to have a co-worker who had to be right all the time. Otherwise, he could be a nice guy, but by God, he had to be right.

If you said, "It's a nice day," he'd say, "Looks like it's going to cloud up." Sometimes he'd directly contradict other people, saying, "No, it's not," which I think is so damn rude.

I wonder sometimes what would have been his reaction if I'd said to him something like, "Well, you must be right. You always are." :sarcasm:

1. so that is arrogance....I wondered. I have a very dear friend

like that. I called it spoiled rotten and told her she could argue with a stop sign. I lover her dearly but, conversations tend to be very one-way. I never contradict her. Why bother? Even when she is wrong she is right :shrug:

2. I think that's one way arrogance manifests itself.

That's good you can still maintain the relationship. Maybe that's the best way to handle them, some of them, anyway.

Or just respond with "Whatever."

3. I value her friendship and, I realize that we all have our quirks.

I love in spite of or sometimes perhaps, because of...

"Whatever" is passive/aggressive but, works for the short term. I despise working with these type of people. I would consider my boss to be one. Jerk is a word that comes to mind...
