Aw. Look how cute.

In all my years, I had never seen a baby squirrel. Until a couple of days ago when we found this little guy on our patio.

I named him Rocky Jr.

1. I once had a baby squirrel walk onto my sandaled foot.
Scared the bejesus out of me and I kicked it away. After that, I bet it hated humans.

4. I can empathize with the little squirrel.
Why must you be so cruel always?

5. I thought it was going to chew at my foot....
the way his parents were teaching him to chew on my house.

7. It's your fault.
You're the one who decided to live in a house made of acorns. Stop blaming the poor little squirrels.

Why do you hate Rocky Jr.?

3. Aw! Look at its widdle tail!
They are so cute! :loveya:

They must stay in the tree nests a looooong time before coming down, usually.

9. My brother adopted a baby squirrel
that came into their yard. He would hand feed it every day and the squirrel hung around for a long time, coming to join him when he would go out back. Then, one day, the squirrel mysteriously disappeared.

Around Easter, the kids were having their egg hunt. While poking around the bushes, someone comes upon a decaying carcass and yells, "Aric, I think we found your squirrel!"

11. Last year there was a nest outside my window.
For some reason one day the mother decided she was going to move the babies from one tree to another. So I got to watch as she carried over each baby one by one. She'd periodically stop to bark too. I've never seen that sort of behaviour before.
