without a lick of common sense

the original dumb blonde if you will...

but, she has a very a kind, gentle and generous heart.

She told me

1. If I don't like it, put it on the side of your plate and ignore it.

2. If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything.

She worked in a Linen Mill in Belfast - Remember Irish Linen?
My Dad worked in the shipyards - Remember Titanic? Actually that was my Granda

She wanted out of the slums and after the 1945 war we got it.

The elocution was to get rid of my street accent. Mike

8. Pretty Is as pretty does.
She'd say that whenever some young lady was being mean or hateful.

She also introduced me to one of my favorite sayings to this day: "It isn't who's right--its who's LEFT (when its finished.)"

I hope I can do just half the job as a mom that she's done.
