The material looks daunting.
I'm taking a psychology course called "The Madness of Crowds" which seems like an interesting enough topic, but holy moley there's so much reading. I have to read Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (by Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan) for next Monday.
Then there's my expository writing course "Critical Reading and Academic Writing". The professor is very passionate about her stuff, but I'm a bit intimidated. I'm no slouch of a writer, but my background is in journalism. I'm a who, what, where, when, how, and quote the protagonist kind of writer. I'm a bit worried about forming opinions of the works of Hannah Arendt and Stanley Milgrim. Who the hell am I to judge THEM?
Wish me luck. This is going to be some serious work. (I'm not afraid of that, mind you. I'm just worried it's going to take me a while to find my way through this material.)
