The Saints (the band not the football team)...

I've been seeing "The Saints" everywhere today. Of course in these cases they have been talking about the football team but I figured I'd start a thread on the band.

Great band, great songs, great lyrics.

Their earlier raw punky stuff is awesome but I even have a soft spot for their late 80's, more U2 inspired stuff like Prodigal Son and All Saint's Day. "Just Like Fire" is one of my favorite tunes ever.

1. Yeah, they were very early on, Punk-wise.

Just reading about them in England's Dreaming, coincidentally.

2. "Stranded" is a smoking little number

as I recall, they also did a kick-ass cover of "Kissing Cousins."

I wasnt so much into their later stuff; entirely different band, it seemed like.
