What do you wear to work?

At our office every day is casual day. I usually wear a t-shirt, cargos or jeans, and sandals. The only time we see each other dressed up is when there is some company function like the Holiday Party. Sometimes I think it would be fun to wear a suit for a change.

1. Usually jeans and a shirt or sweater.

I work from home, so I can do that. However, if I have a meeting with a client, doc, attorney, or anyone else in connection with my work, I wear casual slacks and a nice shirt or sweater. If I have to testify before the Board of Appeals, though, I wear a suit.

37. Office Casual and it is well defined. There are ironies of course

like skirts can be 3" above the knee but pants can't be 2" above the ankle.

Go figure.

They are real anal about the footwear too. I have to have a doctor's order to wear athletic shoes, which I need to do because of my very unhealty back.

So I have a variety of non denim comfortable slacks and tops in mostly neutral colors. Lots of Beige, black, white, with some red and blue tops thrown in for variety. Occasionally I wear a skirt

5. Hiker garb.

6. Usually khakis or semi-dressy pants and a nice top or sweater;

skirts in summertime (much comfier than pants!) and jeans on Fridays.

... I had to go out and buy a bunch of khakis and shirts for my new job. We have casual Fridays also, but "casual" is pretty limited - no tshirts, no sneakers. As far as I can tell (haven't been there on a Friday yet), casual means you can wear jeans instead of khakis :)

I usually wear khakis or black slacks, decent shirt, shoes. It's pretty comfortable. Fridays are casual. I just need to buy a polo for every day of the week and get it over with. I'm nearly to that point.

18. We have a dress code....

I'm a teacher. I mostly wear dressy slacks and coordinating tops. We can wear jeans on Fridays, but we have to put in $1.00 for charity. I always wear comfortable shoes, though... I don't know how anyone can teach in heels all day. I must walk about 10 miles a day and I'm on my feet allll day! My feet hurt every night. groan!

Workout clothes or jeans/shorts/capris and a t-shirt/sweater/hoodie/jean jacket.

Then again, my "work" is raising children and keeping house. I can pretty much set the dress code. ;)

My husband wears dress pants, long-sleeved dress shirts, and ties. Sometimes he'll go a little more casual on Fridays with a golf shirt or cashmere sweater. On days he gives presentations, training, or has a particularly important meeting, he'll also wear a jacket.

No open toed shoes unless it is hotter than 80 degrees outside.
No spaghetti straps.
No skin exposed belly buttons.
No visible underwear.
No short shorts.
No raggedy or dirty clothes.

Sandals (especially Birks) are worn with socks to circumvent the "no open toed shoes" rule. It seems to be a custom peculiar to the Northwest. :hippie:
