I am having to help this guy install Apache Tomcat on Solaris. Hello? I'm a developer. Installing servers is networks' job, so why don't they know how to do it? Especially a piece of software as ubiquitous as Tomcat.

Maybe you can come over and tell the cable company how to do their job. I called almost every day until Tuesday and was told something was wrong with my wiring/equipment. We waited all day for them to come over on Tuesday and no one ever came. Yesterday morning, they called harleydad and told him there was a problem area-wide that they're working on. I can't count how many times I asked them if they were having an area-wide problem and was told they weren't. x( (Of course, they don't OFFER to reimburse for the time they're down -- we have to make a separate call and ask for that.) I was suspicious because the connection would be good sometimes, bad sometimes, and no service at all sometimes. If the problem was in my equipment, I expected to never have a good connection. But I'm a female ... what do I know? :shrug: Maybe harleydad should have been the one to call in the first place. :grr:
