I have to work with Mr. Creepy tonight. Send me good vibes.
Come to think of it, send me a force field. Here's hoping I can get through the night unmolested. It's bad enough to be asked if I frequent the local strip club (do any women do this who don't work there?) or told that I 'shore am purty' repeatedly as has happened in times past....but I would really like to make it through this night without either of his hands ending up anywhere on my body, which happened the last time we worked together. He seems to get friskier as the night goes on so I'm hoping it won't be a whole long evening thing.

:scared:

3. yep.
He's over six foot and it just feels like he's fucking everywhere; he's got quite a reach so there really isn't any avoiding it.

I'm hoping it wont' be so bad, maybe he'll be in a bad mood or something.

Seriously. That sounds like an actionable hostile work environment claim.

like, maybe once a year at the very most. In fact, it's been over a year and half since the last time.

paternalistic, or anything....

...but you can tell him that Mr Gumpy will repeatedly kick Mr Creepy's diseased bootie if he gets those greasy hands anywhere near you. :grr:

 I hope it's a good night.

7. When I was 19 I worked for an Insurance agent who used to chase
me around his office. A pig of a man... I wish I knew then what I know now. The man was such a pig that he asked me to go to a Foreigner concert (I'm dating myself here) the night his wife gave birth to their second kid. :puke:

16. well, the last time I was around him he had just had eye
surgery and couldn't really see that well; he was totally high from painkillers and kept on saying 'you shore are a purty woman' and crap like that. I have put up with so much crap at this place; the office manager's dad used to come in and hassle me all the time until he asked me if I would cook for him that night and I told him yes but only because it would be an opportunity to poison him. Unfortunately I said it right in front of the office manager, and I don't think she's ever forgiven me (she's my boss, btw). Then there's the time one of the drivers tried to choke me...

I'm cracking myself up. It's too fucked up to be true, but it is...

that is very kind of you. I can deal with it once in a while, I just kind of dread it. I work by myself 99% of the time but once in a blue moon I have to train with him. Honestly it would totally suck for everyone involved if something happened to this man because he's the best supervisor they have (it's a building maintenance company). I mean, things would go to hell really quick. I think they've probably had scores of complaints about him and they never did anything about it because he's so good or they think he is. It's just going to be a couple of hours, and then it will be over and I won't see him for another year or so (crosses fingers).

37. He needs to get fired
He is by definition not a good supervisor. The only way these pigs learn is if you hit them where it hurts. You do not, under any circumstances, have to put up with this shit. Honestly, the only reason they get away with it is because their victims do not fight back. They'll say just what you have said. He'll keep molesting people until and unless someone does something. Shooting is too good for him.

I'll go before he does. I've only complained once about something that happened there, and that was a year after it happened, when one of the drivers kind of assaulted me. At the time I told my boss and she said 'oh honey, he didn't mean it, he just doesn't know his own strength'...this is the backwoods south so they are behind.

In any event, I really need this job, it's only part-time but it's the only steady work I've had in three years. If I raised a stink about this stuff that only happens every once in a while I'd probably lose it as a reference which I can't afford since it's a huge block of time.

23. That is horrible,
that you have to put up with sexual harassment like that. I wish you had someplace you could go, a better job lined up. I hope you are at least documenting what is happening. If things get out of hand, even though you don't want to complain, you might end up needing to. Some documentation of what happened and when will come in very handy.

24. I've actually hung out at the local strip club...
However, half of it is a rock club and they get decent bands playing. On the other side, it's a "Gentleman's Club."

But yeah, I've worked with both a Mr. Creepy and a Mrs. Creepy. I'm not sure which one was worse.

26. Trust me. Not with her...
She looked like a mini-version of Mimi from the Drew Carey Show. She used to try to give me erotica books and everything. Eventually, she quit (the day before she was going to be fired), but of course, she ended up being a rep for a makeup line we carried. However, once I was only subjected to her monthly, it was fun to fuck with her head. I was manager of the grocery dept, but when she was in, I used to walk down the body care aisle carrying really heavy boxes every five minutes, especially if she was talking to a customer directly. She used to drop stuff and forget what she was saying when I walked by. She eventually got fired from that company though for *surprise, surprise* sexually harassing her female boss.

30. in this case they just don't get it.
the way her Dad used to talk to me all the time...I mean I used to run to the back when I saw him drive up; that was totally sexual harassment the way he would go on (when I used to be a delivery driver for them as was in the office every day). He did it right in front of her all the time and she never batted an eye. I mean, how can you say to your boss, 'um excuse me, but your Dad is sexually harassing me'? It's just so weird, that's why I had to be so brutal with him, which worked but it pissed her off.

Gotta go, my hour of doom is nigh. Sigh...

he was kind of touchy-feely as usual but he didn't grab anything important. Thanks (to everyone) for all the good vibes. Luckily we weren't working tonight, which I didn't know beforehand so it was only a few hours of training. Hopefully it will be another year before I have to work with him again.

On a side note, I found out someone stole all the catalytic converters off the delivery trucks last week. It was all I could do to keep from cracking up about it in front of him and when I got home I laughed until I cried.

41. "kind of touchy-feely" can be a prelude to something much worse.
You've gotten some good advice here.

Hope you take it.

This could get really out of control really fast if he keeps getting the idea you're willing to put up with this bullshit. Which it sounds like he has that idea.

There are laws in place to protect you from him, while preserving your position at your job. Please don't let him treat you like this.

Peace

it's over and done, I won't work with him for another year or so if ever. Someone who works with him more frequently would have to be the one to do it...I'm barely hanging on to my ass financially and I don't want to fuck with my job over someone putting their hand on my waist or my knee or my shoulder. It just gives me the creeps...as long as he stays away from the high-dollar areas I just get through it.
