I spent this week cleaning, and caring for a sick kitty. The kitty's at the vet overnight (for a sinus clearing - icky procedure - tomorrow). And I'm trying to keep my allergies under control with the huge cloud of dust in the house.

I really haven't cleaned since mom died 6 months ago.
Hell, I haven't really cleaned since.... God, I don't know. All my free time before that was spent with Mom & Dad. I don't regret one minute of it, either.

So, I'm hoping that maybe I'll see my bedroom floor again. And the office floor. And will be able to use the kitchen table for something other than a huge storage for clutter.

Not to mention all other kinds of junk depositories. We had a Dumpster this spring for what we thought was a brutal cleaning-out, and now that we're considering a move to the North, we're looking at having a Dumpster again.

Still, not cleaning because you spent your time with Mom and Dad...that doesn't even qualify as an excuse, does it? That's a reason, not an excuse.

Life has somehow become way too overwhelming at times. Now that some of the grief has abated, it's time to try to put things back in order. But in order to do that, I needed to take a break from work. Make sense?

Oh, and for inspiration, I've started watching those clean house shows on TV late at night. Sets a good mood for the next day. :)

(which is not a common thing, as I bet you know), and would be only too happy to be able to lighten your load (of life).

We all get owverwhelmed now and again. It must be especially rough for you, given that (I assume from having been friends with a minister going back more than 30 years) many people assume that you're immune to the world's troubles.

Geven that, of COURSE it makes sense that you'd need to take a break from work. Your work, after all, is primarily dealing with your flock's troubles, and making them feel better about same. And you need to take some time to put your own troubles to rest before you can go back to doing that.

It makes perfect sense.

Take however much of a break you need to. Come and visit in Connecticut if you think that'll help. (The leaves are starting to turn.)
