Oh course once they find out they can't, then they typically turn vicious and very anti-gay towards the individual who wouldn't accept.

Something like this recently happened to a young friend of mine (who looks identical to Shakira BTW) with a co-worker of hers. She's at a great place though and after two warnings to the jerk they fired him and afer that she threatened to get an injunction against Mr. "Super Stud" who finally got the point.
