Speaking of holiday songs being stuck in your head...
Endless Christmas Carols Irk Czech Clerks

PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Labor unions in the Czech Republic demanded Monday that stores stop playing Christmas carols incessantly or pay compensation for causing emotional trauma to sales clerks.

Some stores here play the same songs all day — and play them loudly. Employees say shifts have become unbearable.
"To listen to it for eight hours a day is not healthy, that's for sure," said Alexandr Leiner, a union leader. "And for the customers, it's almost unbearable as well."

2. Ever been in a RiteAid, or CVS Pharmacy store?
They ought to compensate the customers for the Britney Spears-type crap they play, too loud and over and over again.

3. They're particularly cruel in the Paper Store.
They have a lot of those motion-detector devices for the various holidays (i.e., things that produce Halloween screams), and the Christmas stuff goes up pretty early.

In fact, the same thing is done in a number of stores in my area. I particularly resent the infernal dancing, singing Santas that I see beginning on November 1st. :puke:

And the deli where I sometimes get my lunch has been playing a particular radio station that started an all-Christmas play list in early November. I was disgusted at hearing "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" only a couple of weeks after Halloween.

I understand WNEW in New York has the same disgusting practice.

And I'm one of those people who LOVES Christmas music and is sorry to see most stations stop playing it after December 25th. This year, though, the stores and radio stations have gone too far.
