Kiss me once, then kiss me twice

Helen Forrest and Harry James.

Kiss me once, then kiss me twice
Then kiss me once again.
It's been a long, long time.
Haven't felt like this, my dear
Since I can't remember when.
It's been a long, long time

You'll never know how many dreams
I've dreamed about you.
Or just how empty they all seemed without you.
So kiss me once, then kiss me twice
Then kiss me once again.
It's been a long, long time.

Ah, kiss me once, then kiss me twice
Then kiss me once again.
It's been a long time.
Haven't felt like this my dear
Since I can't remember when
It's been a long, long time.

1. I love that song!
I've also found I the Jackie Gleason orchestra. "Tenderly" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

3. You may not be an angel
You may not be an angel
Cause angels are so few
But until the day that one comes along
I'll string along with you

I looking for an angel
To sing my love song to
And until the day that one comes along
I'll sing my song to you

For every little fault that you have
Say I've got three or four
The human little faults you do have
Just make me love you more

You may not be an angel
But still I'm sure you'll do
So until the day that one comes along
I'll string along with you

14. I am an old woman named after my mother
My old man is another child that's grown old
If dreams were lightning thunder was desire
This old house would have burnt down a long time ago

Make me an angel that flies from Montgom'ry
Make me a poster of an old rodeo
Just give me one thing that I can hold on to
To believe in this living is just a hard way to go

When I was a young girl well, I had me a cowboy
He weren't much to look at, just free rambling man
But that was a long time and no matter how I try
The years just flow by like a broken down dam.

Make me an angel that flies from Montgom'ry
Make me a poster of an old rodeo
Just give me one thing that I can hold on to
To believe in this living is just a hard way to go

There's flies in the kitchen]I can hear 'em there buzzing
And I ain't done nothing since I woke up today.
How the hell can a person go to work in the morning
And come home in the evening and have nothing to Say.

Make me an angel that flies from Montgom'ry
Make me a poster of an old rodeo
Just give me one thing that I can hold on to
To believe in this living is just a hard way to go

5. Thank you, Ptah,
Not only do I recognize the song,
Harry James was one of the first artists
I ever heard as a child.

He was my brother's favorite trumpet player at the time.
My brother played trumpet, also.

To quote another song from that era,

"Thanks for the memories'---

;-) :hi:

12. I don't know the reference.
Who sang "Come on pretty baby.........KISS ME DEADLY".

I'm guessing it wasn't a polite reference to romance.
