5. No more Jane Lynch? Boo. She rocked in 40 yr. old Virgin and last night
in Boston Legal as the sex therapist. Wonder what happened.

6. I'm glad they dropped Sanz. I thought he was really a bore and

untalented. Meyers is okay and Amy Poehler can crack me up with only a glance. The woman is truly wacky and gifted.
I'll be glad to give Poehler and Myers a try on Weekend Update.
I found a bit more at this link. I'm glad Kristen Wiig is returning. She's both beautiful and hysterical. I love her Target Lady. More at the link:

11. They both stink
Edited on Sat Sep-23-06 05:58 PM by notmypresident
But at least SNL used to not stink.

Both Mr. Show and Upright Citizen's Brigade were light years beyond anything these sad shows have done.

14. Did ya like "In Living Color" ?
I'm sure there are better shows out there, but this was just a SNL/Mad smackdown :)

16. Well there was an other choice, so I have to disagree
And yes, I did actually like that show.

I have sampled about 2 or 3 hours of MadTV over the years and through comedy central repeats and laughed maybe twice. I find it to be really bad.

And to be honest, I have not watched SNL much since Phil Hartman left. Other than the Richard Schmigel work it seems pretty bad to me. As if they are afraid to be offensive.

15. "Mad TV"
"Mad TV" still displays some cutting edge humor.

"SNL" is just a boring piece of shit now.

And "Mad TV's" "Dixie Wentworth" and "Cabana Chat" was hilarious. :-)

17. Both are nothing more than a collection of bad skits
designed to shock without too much intelect involved...

That is why my favorite humor is the Daily Show and The Cobert Report...

18. All sketch comedy I can only take in limited amounts
For years now I have only watched SNL up through Weekend Update. Somebody here said that Mad was way better than SNL. When I checked it out in re-runs (my area doesn't get Fox), it was hard to take---the weird kid (Michael McDONALD) and the comedienne doing the Chinese lady all the time. If they did more stuff like the take-offs on O'LOOFAH, but I just couldn't keep watching long enough to get to the good parts.

Shortly after, there were some re-runs of the Carol BURNETT Show, and I liked it way more than Mad or most of SNL. Yet it seems that all sketch comedy leads down the same road, to certain quirky characters that rapidly get old for me.

Harvey KORMAN and Carol, the best. Her in the GWTW thing, coming down the stairs with the curtain rod across her shoulders!!!!!!!!11 Or the Sunset Blvd thing!!!!!!!1
