I really, very much, like
the sound of water running in a creek through the rocks.

I can sit for hours listening to nothing other than that.

What sounds do you enjoy?

1. The sound the wind makes...
as it travels through the woods on a crisp, clear fall day.

9. Thunder in the distance.
Or at least I did, until I moved to Oklahoma.

I also love the sound of crickets, and, oddly, the sound of distant traffic on the interstate. Both are very soothing to me.

11. The sound of distant traffic on the interstate
can sound like a waterfall. That's what I thought at the time, anyway!

12. Anything that's not an alarm clock.
Campfires, I could sit there for hours and listen to a campfire. A fire in a fireplace is nice but it's not the same.

15. Absolutely
Was at the Brickyard 400 this year, up in the stands. Sitting near corner 1. The sound when the green flag would fall runs through the body. 30,000 HP or so with open pipes, arghhh, arghhhh, arghhh.

OTOH, my pop and I go fishing in Canada 400+ miles north of the border. When the wind is still, the silence at mid-day can be surreal. You hear nothing but the blood rushing through your ears. The silence can be "heavy".

17. I prefer the sound of acceleration
to more or less constant speed. Thus, drag racing.

But any hot-rodded engine is music to these ears.

Well, except maybe a lot of SCCA classes. Those suckers shriek. x(

NHRA event. I need to go again.

On the other side if the spectrum, the call of loons is magical.
