Does anyone else have an SACD player?
Super Audio CD, that is -- the sound is absolutely incredible (we only have Dark Side of the Moon, and I can't wait to hear others)

1. So, now that people have replaced most of their
albums with cassettes and then with CDs there is a NEW version of the CD and it has BETTER sound?

Oy vey! Is it that much better to justify what these SACDs cost? Would I be able to tell the difference on a portable CD/DVD player and some headphones?

2. The difference is truly amazing --
I don't think they even have portable players, yet, though -- you'd really have to hear it yourself to tell if it's worth it to you, I can't adequately describe the quality of the sound

4. They finally learned their lesson
If you buy a SACD player, you can play regular CDs in it.

I bought the Pioneer DVD with mp3, dvd-audio, kodak photo-cd, jpeg and sacd. Absolutely rocks!

You did well, I also bought "Dark Side..." for my first sacd.

Got Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" for my first dvd-audio, and to be honest, I don't care too much for the 5.1 remix on it...it sounds good, but you don't need 5.1 to pinpoint the band members on basically a "studio" album, but the 96kHz stereo is jaw dropping in it's depth of detail. (Most of the dvd-a discs carry both 5.1 and sacd equivalent stereo.)

(on edit: typos)
