Hypnotoad's Etymology Linguistics Lesson for today: 'Sabotage'
sabotage
Main Entry: 1sab·o·tage
Pronunciation: 'sa-b&-"täzh
Function: noun
Etymology: French, from saboter to clatter with sabots, botch, sabotage, from sabot: destruction of an employer's property (as tools or materials) or the hindering of manufacturing by discontented workers, who see their livelihoods threatened. As a result of automation, the French workers threw their shoes, called sabot, into the machinery in protest.

No wonder everybody hates the French! :spray:

And, yes, I do see what my acronym is.
