I got into a 20 minute screaming match with my father tonight because of a friggen coin toss!!! I was watching the football game earlier tonight and Poppy Bush was doing the coin toss, well I just sort of made an off the cuff comment that I heard some booing in the stands. Well he said something like "why isn't his son there tonight" and I replied, "because they would be throwing fucking fruit at that asshole". So he said, "what do you mean, what did he do?"...well as you could imagine I went from zero to 60 in about 2 milliseconds...I went off about how this administration did a deplorable job dealing with Katrina and the President went to San Diego and played his guitar while New Orleans drowned. He apparently believed that it was entirely Nagain's fault that so many people died, and while I agree that there is plenty of blame to go around at all levels, he refuses to admit the the federal government was to blame AT ALL in this mess.
Now if it was only the Katrina thing that he let Bush off the hook for, I could have just let it slide but this week alone we've fought about Bush sitting on his ass on 9/11 and the whole government supported torture thing. So I guess this was the final straw that put me over the edge because I said some really nasty things, because quite frankly I was fed up with his bullshit talking points. I feel bad that I hurled personal insults but dammit the shit is just driving me crazy. I think that he has given this administration a pass on everything that they have ever done and for the life of me I can't understand why...we certainly are not rich so it isn't the tax breaks. I've had two stiff drinks already and my hands are still shaking. AAAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
