Rhiannon
Rhiannon rings like a bell through the night
And wouldn't you love to love her?
Takes to the sky like a bird in flight and
Who will be her lover?

All your life you've never seen a woman
Taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised to you heaven?
Will you ever win?

She is like a cat in the dark
And then she is the darkness
She rules her life like a fine skylark
And then the sky is starless

3. I'm surprised.............
you could decipher Stevie Nix's lyrics. I love the Gal's work, but I always had a hard time understanding what she was saying.

4. Good thing this is a Demo board.
If a freeper saw your post they might accuse you of being a Satanist. We all know Rhiannon was a Celtic witch.

7. I adore Fleetwood
And love the song Rhiannon. One of my friends growing up was named Rhiannon. She always had such an air of mystery to her.

I've often debated using the name if I have a little girl of my own some day. :)

8. Tusk
Why don't you ask him if he's going to stay?
Why don't you ask him if he's going away?
Why don't you tell me what's going on?
Why don't you tell me who's on the phone?
Why don't you ask him what's going on?
Why don't you ask him who's the latest on his throne?

Don't say that you love me!
Just tell me that you want me!

Tusk! Tusk! Tusk! Tusk!
Tusk! Tusk! Tusk! Tusk!
Tusk! Tusk! Tusk! Tusk!
Tusk! Tusk! Tusk! Tusk!
Tusk!

I think one of the reasons that Fleetwood Mac was so successful is the wildly different songwriting styles of Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie. That, and the fact that they could somehow blend them to form a coherent whole.

15. Lots of girls came out of the seventies
named Rhiannon. It's almost amazing that people don't know Fleetwood Mac was a band before the Fleetwood Mac album was released. I'm still in love with Stevie, from the moment I saw her on the stage at Royal's stadium 1976 the wind blowing her long blonde hair and the black stage negligee. Oh, man, Stevie, Stevie, Stevie.

16. Looking for me?! LOL!
Here is the real Rhiannon:

And the complete lyrics. It's obviously a favorite of mine, as is Stevie Nicks. Rhiannon was a Welsh witch.

Lyrics - Original Version

Rhiannon rings like a bell thru the night
And wouldn't you love to love her
She rules her life like a bird in flight
And who will be her lover...

All your life you've never seen
A woman--taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised you heaven
Will you ever win...

She is like a cat in the dark
And then she is the darkness
She rules her life like a fine skylark--
And when the sky is starless--

All your life you've never seen--
A woman--taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised you heaven
Will you ever win...

Dreams unwind.
Love's a state of mind.

17. One of the great songs of all time, IMHO!!!
Thank you for posting it. I also have a dog named Sara, another great Stevie Nicks song. She was called Cindy by the shelter where she ended up, but at eight-years-old she knew this was not her name. I tried several names, since she refused to answer to Cindy. When I called "Sara," she ran across the room, jumped up into my lap and licked my face. So I also have a Sara.:-)

19. I had been off for a couple of days, but my friend told me about it
so I did a search. I had a feeling that you were calling me, bringing me back to DU. Certain events have discouraged me, as you probably know. "Rhiannon" is probabably my favorite song of all time, plus the name of my most remarkable cat, so I could not resist. "Sara" is a close second, the name of my nutty little dog, "the poet of my heart, never leave, never change..." I just love Stevie Nicks. Thanks for posting both of these.:-)
