20. Update: My speech went fine

I went a little overtime, which I was afraid of. The cool thing is that the class kept discussing my topif for about 5 minutes afterward, which they didn't with the others. That was what I'd hoped for, to get peoplt thinking. The one thing that I wish I'd got to do but I didn't was to take questions at the end.

I always was a bundle of nerves and full of butterflies before giving a speech or making a major presentation. I always over-prepared. Once I got started I got such a high and sense of command. A wreak before and super-relaxed and on a happy high after.

One thing I learned: being nervous and scared goes with the territory, just accept it and don't dwell on it. It's when your not nervous and cocky that you bomb.

There was a famous baseball pitcher that claimed when all his pitches were working during warm-up, he bombed. When his pitches were not working during warm-up, he pitched his best games - forced him to focus, concentrate and think about what he was going to do next.

Stay with it - it really builds character and forces you to "think on your feet".
