My sister just overnighted me ten (10) gobs!
She made gobs over the weekend, and I was griping because I wouldn't get any. So she overnighted them to me - they arrived at my office today. Now, for health reasons I am not supposed to eat sugar, but these were just too good to pass up. I scarfed one down immediately, now I don't know what to do with the other nine. Hmmm...

In the event you do not know what a gob is, here's a pic:

1. looks like a whoopie pie
If you're having a hard time deciding what to do w/ them, overnight them to my office. I'll take care of that for you.

4. I'd be glad to overnight them to you, but I worry about their comfort.
You know, being flown to the distribution point, then sitting in a cold truck till delivery. Think of the gobs! Never heard of a whoopie pie, they sound good too!

6. She threatened to send them to me, and I thought that maybe she
would, but I would not have been surprised or hurt if she had chosen not to. She is a doll, isn't she?

7. Now, that wasn't nice
I've been wanting to make a batch of whoopie pies (that's what they look like to me, too) and I've been resisting...

But...resistance. is. futile.

8. Sooo.... shaving cream on dark rye?
No really, they look scrumptious.

Sort of a chocolate cream puff? Whipped cream on chocolate cake? Anything else? (Not that you NEED anything else in my book.)

Congrats, Bunny :hi:

Now keep healthy and stay away from that sugar :spank:

10. It's chocolate cake-y things, but the filling is not cake icing.
I just found that pic on Google to illustrate. The real gob filling is unique - I don't know how to describe it because I don't cook them, I just eat them! It is going to be hard to resist, but I don't want to share them with anyone at work (they're a bunch of hogs!). My kids may eat one or two, but they won't eat them all. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and down one or two more in the next few days. Poor me...

:hi: Rich!

14. No, not marshmallow. I called my sister for the ingredients.

Flour and milk made into a roux and chilled for one hour, powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and a pinch of salt. Whip it together for a long time. Boy is it good!

15. Dang! That does sound good.
I said marshmallow because I recently saw a thing on Food Network about a place in Maine that makes whoopie pies (Paula Deen's sons visited there). Anyhoo, that bakery used a base of marshmallow fluff. Your sister's recipe sounds better. :9

17. You're a good Pittsburgh girl, so you'd know a real gob from a fake
one! The store bought kind so totally suck - homemade is far superior, isn't it? :hi:

19. that is just the sweetest thing ever!
and i think it is your familial duty to eat every last on -- if nothing else to protect mankind from a bad gob -- just in case.
