PLEASE read: Can we have a tribute page for all the DUers we've lost??
I just think it's about time....don't you?
Is there some way we could structure it so it could be added to perpetually, kinda like the research page or something?
Ideas?

1. I would send a PM to Skinner. He reads all of them
and he would be the one to create this.

I think it is a great idea.

3. Will do, but wanted to get some general input first.
Kinda like we do with a group. No sense in taking more server space if not a lot of people are going to use it.

I think a memorial wall would be a great idea.

8. Yep; that's kinda what I'm thinking..
welcome ideas on how to structure it. I think it would be nice to for people to be able to add comments whenever they want to about a specific person; so it needs to be open for that..kinda like the research fourm is structured. I'm no expert on this, so...keep 'em coming.

I thought it would be a nice thing to have and maybe have some of their classic posts in there. Never heard back from anyone.

10. I really like this idea.
Some of the people we've lost were there at the beginning. They helped make DU what it is and they should be remembered.

14. Yes. I think we should somehow memorialize those who've left us.
Andy, Keph, nostamj, playahata, and now alarcojon. There was another one who died, he was called Prodigal something - was he the grandfather of ProdigalJunkMail? I can't remember exactly. A memorial wall of some type would be lovely.

37. His screen name was AllJunkMail
He was one of the oldest posters we ever had, over eighty.

There was another man who didn't post much who died fairly early, maybe three years ago, but I forget his name.

I am reeling from the loss of two DUers on the same day. It would be nice to have a place to go, a page, a forum, whatever, in memory of all the DUers we have lost.

but I would think it would be easier not to with a special place to post them, hopefully.
It would be cool to make a shout out when whatever forum or whatever is put together.

36. The only way that someone would be left out...
...is if the passed DUer's family/mate didn't post to DU with the news of their passing.

It is something for all of us to think about. I had my talk with Mr Zola several months ago--he will fullfill my wishes--or he'll have to deal with my spirit freaking with him until the day he dies

We should all consider if we want our loved one to post when we pass. If we have any DUer's who have no loved ones to carry out their wishes, they can make some sort of arangement for Skinner to be alerted when they pass. I'm just sayin'.

Skinner created one hell of a comunity here. We should behave like a comunity and put monuments up for those whom pass.

It's time. Whe've lost too many DUers to the next passage w/o having a page so that we could pay tribute to them.

What a sad, day; I just got home from the hotel and thought about Alarcojon alot during my time there; what brilliant, funny, kind person he was. I still have all his requests for stuff for my overnight show through the months we knew each other here on DU; I think I'm going to play them all tonight on the show in his honor.

Now coming home and hearing Oneighty passing on today as well; what a sad day..
