Poll question: What's the maximum you're willing to spend on a pair of jeans?
There's an article in (tomorrow's?) Journal-Sentinel discussing premium jeans. In it, one woman was quoted thusly: "I stick around $150, but I'm not going any higher," said Angie Peter, who favors 7 For All Mankind jeans, which retail for $143 to $264.

Even that price was too steep for Peter's budget when she recently bought a third pair of the jeans, also called "7s," - she returned them the same day.

"I have rent and other things coming up, so right now I just couldn't do it," Peter said. "But I plan to get them later. I love them so much."

Personally, I can't fathom spending $200 on a pair of jeans (let alone on each of three pairs of jeans, when there's rent to pay). I like thrift stores, but if I'm buying new, it's generally on the way-lower end of the scale.

How about you?

3. No more than 50 bucks
Personally few things feel better than a well worn, nice fitting pair of Levis. Why anyone would spend so much money on distressed jeans when distressing them yourself is a lot cheaper and more fun.

5. I used to spend $50 on Gap jeans.
$50 for jeans "assembled" in Mexico. I now spend around $25 on big box Levis from Cambodia. They last longer and they're more comfortable.

6. Female, at 5'10". but I'll search far and way for a decent, cheap pair
that fits right. Usually Gap or Levi's.

7. The most I've spent is $98 for a pair of Lucky's.
Usually I spend $20-70 for Gap or Abercrombie jeans. I try to buy them onsale, but I have a hard time finding jeans that fit right in cheap brands, so I am willing to spend more. I keep them forever though. I haven't bought jeans in over a year and most of my jeans are about three years old.

8. I don't wear jeans..
I normally wear Ben Davis (35$) or Dickies (20$). I do have a few pairs of nice slacks that were around 70$.

9. Buying new, $25 is as high as I will go.
In the discount stores (not ChinaMart) I can usually find them on sale for less than that. The real bargains are at GW and Sallys.
