2. It's really sad. I don't like the guy but -
Oodles of physical ability to play football and tons of money - you'd think he was living the dream. Just goes to show those things didn't make him happy. I hope he gets the help he needs.

3. He was released the next morning???
I thought people were usually watched after a suicide attempt

4. There is a whole other set of rules for Dallas Cowboys players.
My question: what kind of quack doctor prescribes 40 pain killers at one time? I guess it goes back to that other set of rules, or laws, made specially for the Cowboys stars.

7. FWIW, my doctor prescribes 90 at a time...but I've been on them
for a bit and have established a history of not abusing them. :hi:

10. Lucky you...
...sounds like you have a compassionate doc. I've read several horror stories of people with terminal illnesses not even getting the pain meds they needed. Consider yourself fortunate, regarding that!

11. It happened to my father after his kidney cancer surgery.
His doctor prescribed 20. Mind you this was an incision that snaked halfway around his body. When he called a week and a half later (this was on prescribed 2 every 4-6 hours-he was taking 3 a day) they said they were worried about the addictive qualities of Vicodin. I called his internist (who is also our family doctor) and he was able to prescribe something. It really made me mad.

14. My doc gave me 60 Percocet
Mainly because he didn't want to have to deal with writing a new script if I needed a refill.

6. Well, he attempted career suicide last year
Philly was not the first time he did this and probably won't be the last.

I hope the guy is ok and perhaps finds a shrink to work with but other than that, I haven't found any reason why the Eagles would have needed TO - Stallworth and Brown are doing great as WR, Smith is a strong TE and this looks like the year that Westbrook becomes a superstar!

12. He is just one big Cry for Help
Now he's become one, literally. Hope he gets that help, and gets out of the public eye.

9. I hope he gets help. He's not the most likeable fellow, for sure
but there has always been something about him that makes me feel there is a really good person (albeit a very hurt one) inside. I really hope this starts him on a better path.

13. He just said in his press conference that he didn't attempt suicide.
He said it was nothing more than an allergic reaction.

16. I think, based on what his publicist had said in the 911 call, that
he's covering it up. I'll take his word for it but I still think it was a suicide attempt. They don't pump tummies for allergic reactions.

17. I hope the guy gets help and gets well. However, I still can't imagine
what possessed the 'Boys to take him on. He's a guaranteed soap opera wherever he goes. Cowboys already have a couple competent receivers.
