1. Could be the results of dehydration and immobility...
...on your long flight last weekend. Sometimes, the body takes awhile to get over longhaul flights. I used to spend over 200 days a year flying on business and I always had some weird muscle spasm, cramp or ache, in addition to a continuous low-grade headcold.

5. Dehydration could be actually it
haven't been drinking as much water as I am used to since I am back. I am gulping down the water right now because I am thirsty.

Thanks

19. and take potassium, either in a banana or as a supplement
I drink lots of water, but I was still getting the leg cramps so bad that they would wake me in the middle of the night. I would have to jump up and stand to relieve it. Since I don't always feel like eating bananas, I started taking potassium once a day...I haven't had a problem since. :hi:

2. Eat a banana and drink a big glass of water before bed
That is what my Grandma used to say, keeps the Charley Horses away

4. Damned good advice.
The water rehydrates and the banana replaces phosphorous leeched out of your nerve cells by dehydration.

3. MissHoneychurch...I hate to tell you this, but as you get older...
...shit happens...:P

Seriously, though, make sure you drink a lot of water. Water helps for a lot of things.

10. Oh Ouchy! I hate the ones that "stay" with you even after you walk
them off. It's especially hard to get out of bed.

I have been having cramps in the leg that has the cast on it and I can't get to the muscle. I take flexeril for it.

12. I hope it wears off in some time
I don't want to take anything for it. Why do you have a cast on?

Thanks for the

14. Dislocation of bones and a "disrupted" tendon.
I'm rather annoyed here at week 3. :grr:

I can usually work them out but since I can't get to it, my doctor told me to take Flexeril.

16. Remember when I punctured my foot on an AC/DC adapter
back in July? It was then. It wasn't healing so the doctor did an MRI. I'm a klutz. Thanks MissHoney.

Mine are the hands of a master masseur. I will show you how it's done.

21. Hey Speedoo and GoP, when you're done there,
could you drop by Tulsa for a bit? My old massage therapist left for the coast years ago, and I keep kicking the covers off every night with what in my youth I called "the heebiejeebies."

Now they tell me it's called something cool and syndromish like "restless legs" or else it's just plain old charley horses, which ain't surprising, given what I've been doing lately.

But I'm like MsHoneybunch, I don't like to take anything for it unless really necessary. I drink tons of water and get my potassium, but this persistent problem began in my childhood and has never entirely let up for any length of time.

Too bad a person can't easily massage his or her OWN legs very well, isn't it? Of course there's always "I'll do yours if you'll do mine," I guess.... ;)

A friend of mine keeps telling me quinine works on her restless legs and muscle cramps. Wonder if I should think about that remedy? Anyone here know?
