Nice quote from Eleanor Roosevelt about what maturity is:
A mature person is one who does not think only in absolutes, who is able to
be objective even when deeply stirred emotionally, who has learned that
there is both good and bad in all people and in all things, and who walks
humbly and deals charitably with the circumstances of life, knowing that in
this world no one is all knowing and therefore all of us need both love and
charity. - Eleanor Roosevelt

I always knew that one of the problems with republicans and freeps that they haven't grown up yet into human maturity. And they're the ones who said, "The adults have come back to the white house". Pish tosh you rascals.

1. The past two or three years have been a maturing process for me...

Not thinking in absolutes...or at least only letting them define the boundaries...is a big one.

2. I like that quote -- it's one of her best.
I'm always seeing quotes from ER that seem to be spot-on, yet I understand she didn't always live up to her billing. Not making a real judgment here, just an observation even though I haven't studied her much.

I can think of few things more appealing than genuine maturity, at least in anyone over 16. Before then, maturity is not a desirable thing, I think.

And you're so right about the present squatters in our White House! Especially the brat-in-chief. I've never been so horrified by petulant, spoiled-child behavior in a "leader" in my life. His behavior at that summit recently when he was chomping snacks with his mouth open, making stoopid, childish remarks to Tony Blair, and copping a feel of the German Prime Minister's shoulders like the rude fratboy he still is ... just sickening and so typical of him!

Some in his coterie are as childish as he is, but in one sense I worry more about the mature monsters like Darth Cheney and Rumsfailed.

I've given up hope on Chimpy ever growing up, but at least I keep thinking maybe one of these days he'll have a rude awakening and see that he never really fooled anyone at all, and that his power-tripping insanity was really based only on what others had chosen for him and given him. Would love to see the look on his face when his power is stripped from him in a heartbeat......
