Thanks to y'all who helped out...

This morning at about 10:45, little Merlin hopped off his Mom's lap and trotted across the Rainbow Bridge.
The transition was fairly easy up until the last hour or so, when he was having to work to breathe...but I do believe he heard me making arrangements with the vet to obtain him an early release and he didn't want to go to the vet AGAIN.

My other two cats are intelligent, loving, and they take care of their Mom, but they are wholly feline. Merlin had something extra. He would have grown into one of those "Sometimes you'd swear he was almost human" cats...you could just see it in his eyes.
It so broke my heart to look at that bright little face and know his potential wouldn't come to pass.

I know he had a good, loving home.
I just wish that he could have had it longer.
