Our Democratic candidate for State Rep was campaigning late in our neck of the woods last night and we invited him to dinner and to spend the night rather than drive home at that late hour. Plus we were having a great time just a talkin'.
Well this morning, over coffee, I told him I needed to call the plumber because my kitchen faucet was leaking again. As in leaking when the faucets were turned off. He asked me for my husband's tool kit and had the leak fixed in less than five minutes.
I told him the bathroom faucet would not shut off because the plumber told me I needed a new faucet because something was askew in the pipe. Yup, he had that fixed in another five minutes.
The plumber, who is a wonderful guy, was just here in June, to fix both problems.
He asked me if there was anything else I needed done and I told him I could use some electrical work done because I needed a light installed over the stairs to the basement. (Truly I was joking) In all seriousness, he says to me, "Okay, no problem, do you have any wire and some wire cutters. Where's the breaker box?"
Talk about going the extra mile for a vote! What a sweetie!
And no, this guy isn't a plumber or an electrician, just one of those people who sees a problem and sets to fix it. Don't you wish all politicians could have his outlook? I feel like I should write a letter to the editor stating such.
