It's mostly rain for us right now; but the sky was mighty threatening around 7pm or so.

:hug: The weather was really nasty here too. About 6 PM, a line of severe storms rolled through, and the wind was terrible. There is debris everywhere in the area. I don't think anything as bad as a tornado came through, but we had some strong winds and a lot of rain.

and sais it was pretty nasty but no tornado.

Some fallen branches and whatnot, but no major damage. Severna Park is nine miles from me, though. :scared:

Severna Park is in Prince Georges county isn't it? Looks a bit nasty, glad you survived!

The abundance of the damage occurred in the lower Magothy Beach area of Severna Park - on North and South drives and Hemingway Lane, said Rhonda Wardlaw, a spokeswoman for Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens.

"We have two confirmed touchdowns," Wardlaw said.

About 20 homes were damaged by downed trees - 11 of those deemed uninhabitable, said Pam Jordan, a spokeswoman for the county emergency operations center. She said the Red Cross was assisting affected families with housing and other services.

Authorities were working last night to assess damage and had blocked off several streets while attempting to clear downed, but live, power lines and debris from roadways.

Nothing like the midwest, but hey, this is Maryland. These things freak us out. :D

14. Seems they are a bit more common in MD and PA than..

they used to be. Probably more global warming effects. There was a tornado caught on video in Chester County in late August - an F1. Fortunately, I live in an area that often seems to miss the brunt of storms.
