Poll question: Hypothetical question/poll
So, let's say that as an upstanding citizen, you don't believe in the violence that seems to grip our nation and our headlines each day. You seek a way around conflict and shun physical ugliness at each turn.

THEN, as a hypothetical situation, someone threatens someone you care deeply about. Someone you love. The threat isn't so much real as it is realistic and possible, considering. Less of a "I'm going to put a grenade in your glove compartment..." (yeah, okay Stallone) but more of a "the next time we're alone, I should just strangle you to death."

Real life situation played out every single day, DU. What say you? Do you do the pre-emptive vigilante thing, or wait for something to happen? Do you let the authorities take care of it, trained and dedicated as they are, or would you take the very life breath of that person(s) by crushing the solar plexus via one well-placed heart punch?

8. Probably #5, and I don't post any polls on the internet
If I've mentioned the situation ("hypothetically" or not) in public, then I stick with #3...

9. You're asking ME? You know that I'd blind the son of a bitch (which is
REAL effective, and not hard at all to do if you can stand the squishy, popping noises).

And once someone can't see, they can't stalk anyone again, can they?

And if they can't see, they can hardly pick you out of a police lineup, can they?

But you can only do it once. Twice gives the cops a pattern to work with.

You know what? Maybe you should sort through the answers to your post and only look seriously at the ones submitted by people who are not clearly insane.

That would be my advice to you.

(But I gotta tell you, it works.)

16. Yeah, I stuck pretty true to form on that one.
There's no point in knowing hand-to-hand and knife fighting, if you're not prepared to use it when needed.

17. And with that, there's even less a point
with being able to bench over 400 if you're not prepared to punch a hole in a man's chest if need be, right?

Medieval martial arts club ftw

My mom nearly freaked when she found Masamune Jr. (my first dagger) hidden in a place easily reachable near my bed.

25. Choices 1&2. Then if the person followed through on their threat,
I would defend myself using the least amount of force necessary to allow myself to escape and let the authorities take it from there.

26. I'd go 1 & 2.
And then, if the threat persisted, it would come down to self-defense. For myself, it would be more of a flight thing...do what has to be done to get away.

If the threat was to my children...they have no idea what I'm capable of.

Absolutely. No. Idea.
