1. Damn. That's what I really wanted for lunch today.
My optometrist is next door to a Japanese restaurant. I wanted sushi. Too bad I had to get back to work. :(

I love sushi; it's the best! Gimme some spicy tuna; some eel; some salmon and shrimp.

20. Bangor has almost no decent restaurants,
but we do have Ichiban, and they make goooood sushi. If I ever find myself employed (or can cajole somebody to take me out) I will have it again... :( Until then I will live vicariously.

21. I get something called a Kirin Roll when I got out for sushi...
I'm not sure what's in it (tuna and another fish along with...).

But its tempura'ed on the outside and it's server warm.

YUMMMM!

Its now part of my normal sushi rotation.

22. Yeah, I used to live by a sushi place that had some good tempura rolls.
One was a wasabi roll that had whitefish & real crab then it was rolled in wasabi, dipped in tempura & fried. The other one was called the Splendid roll (and it was splendid) that was shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado and it was wrapped in a white seaweed, which I've never seen anywhere before, but it's even better than nori.

24. Yeah, it took me awhile.
The raw fish thing grossed me out a bit, plus I actually went about six years without consuming any animal flesh. I started with the vegetarian rolls, then the cooked fish, and now I'm a fan of the raw stuff.

Of course, it's something that has to be super fresh, so I'm very picky about where I get it from. I'm lucky because we have a few good sushi restaurants within about 15 minutes.

CRAVING it three weeks later...

That's one thing I find interesting about sushi...I genuinely crave it after a while.

Anyone else?

27. Yeah, I definitely start craving it.
I get seafood cravings in general. Hell, for a decent portion of the summer, I probably ate seafood of some sort one or two times a day. All either stuff we caught or came from the local fishing docks. Nothing better.

Is the avocado salad roll. Those are yummy. Oh and I looooove inari.

I was vegetarian, but now I eat fish, which was the only meat I ever really liked.

:9 Haven't had any since we left FL in June. We tried some in TN when we came up in January ... but it was pretty nasty. We're used to FRESH sushi. There just isn't the demand for it here, I guess.

35. The rainbow roll is my favorite roll.
My idea of heaven: tuna tataki appetizer, then a rainbow roll, accompanied by ice cold Kirin in a frosty glass. And sake for dessert.
