Absolutely brilliant web site
This is somehow both funny and inspiring. Go to the link below, but type in your first name and your last name where I have "firstname" and "lastname" in the link.

http://www.firstname.lastname.youaremighty.com

so if your name was John Smith, it would look like this:

http://www.john.smith.youaremighty.com

7. I'm crying.
As you might know, I'm the freak who listens to two sets of music at once.

This music, combined with Forth Eórlingas, is the finest thing I have ever heard.

A wonder - I just can't describe it.

HOW DO I GET THIS MUSIC? TELL ME! TELL ME! RESPOND, DAMN YOU!

32. If you're using IE....
Edited on Sat Sep-30-06 04:36 PM by boolean
Try going to Tools/Internet Options

Then under the Temporary Internet Files section click on "Settings..." button, then click the "View files..." button...

Then, in the new window with the list of files, if it's not already in detail view, go to View/Details

Then sort by file name...
then find the file called "mighty.swf"

Copy and paste it somewhere else and voila....

I haven't actually tried this, and am too lazy to try. Maybe it'll work, but maybe not.

26. Jane Elliot of the famous "Blue-Eyed/brown eyed" experiment would approve!
Blue Eye/Brown Eye is an experiment performed by Jane Elliot in 1968 on the day after Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated to demonstrate what prejudice was to her third grade class. The basic idea was to separate the class into two halves - those with blue eyes and those with brown. She then told them that the children with blue eyes were inherently inferior to the children with brown eyes - they were denied access to play equipment, they were told they were stupid, and they were not allowed to socialize with members of the 'superior group'. The next day the roles were reversed, with the blue-eyed children treated as better.

The idea behind the experiment was to show the children first hand what prejudice was like. In this it was a success: on days when students were part of the inferior group, they showed lower test scores, less enthusiasm, and more hostility toward activities in the classroom.

The experiment has since been repeated with dramatic results elsewhere, with both children and adults. There are of course some major ethical questions raised by the original experiment - particularly the concept of 'informed consent'.

...

I saw a film of the experiment years ago, and again just recently. What struck me profoundly was that the children's test scores changed dramatically when the changed roles. FACT: Kids test well when they felt good about themselves, poorly when they don't.
