I'm on my way...
to longer hair!

I know it doesn't look like it yet...but give me about 9 months.......

And my hair will be longer, softer, and more feminine.........

I decided that it was time for something new!

It'll be longer (just below my ears) and softer......feathered around my face....

This is a preview!

What do you think?

14. That's the trouble, isn't it?
It's so much faster to get rid of it than to get it back.

Reminds me of my first day at the Academy (many, many years ago). I showed up with mid-back length hair (it was the 70s, after all). Of course, one of the first things they do there is shave your hair. With 1500 incoming freshmen, it was done "assembly line" style. I sat in the barber chair, and when the barber turned around and saw my head of hair, he called another over to time him with a stopwatch.

He used some kind of electric clippers that he ran over my head in swaths, sort of like mowing the lawn.

It took him 22 seconds.

15. Yikes! 22 seconds?
That must have been tough......

Even though you wanted to be there!

That's a great story........thanks for sharing it!

Some people have the luck of fast-growing hair......I'm not one of them!

radiant, beautiful regardless of hairstyle.

I hear you on the hair thing. I had had really long hair my whole life until just a few yrs ago. One day i woke up and decided i was ready for a change and cut it to my shoulder blades. :scary:

it looks good, CaliforniaPeggy. can't wait to see it 9 months from now.

9. I think a little longer will frame your face
nicely. But I think you are lovely now too! The good thing about longer hair is you can put it up and away from your face. I like to do this when it's hot or I don't know what to do with it. :)

Time will tell, won't it?

I'm glad you like how I look now, though.......

It won't be hugely longer, just down below my ears!

I can't really put it up, though......my stupid ears stick out!

:hi:

Oh, and......Thank you!

Longer hair will be an interesting experiment - keep us informed!

I'd try to grow mine longer in solidarity with you, but it has already been demonstrated (according to my wife) that long hair doesn't work for me...

Glad you like the pic.........I was feeling very pretty today.....

And I appreciate your wanting to show solidarity.......but if long hair doesn't work, well then.......it doesn't work!

But I do appreciate your very good thought....

no matter how you wear your hair, your spirit will shine through.

I think longer will be a nice change and if you don't like it, you could always cut it :-).

28. Here's a tip for asking a stylist to simply trim your hair...
Edited on Sat Sep-30-06 11:08 PM by KC2
...instead of saying a half inch, or so (because mine always ends-up too short when I say that), I've learned to show them my pinky fingernail and say, "See this...no more cut off than this!" Works every time. Of course, I'll have to change my approach if I ever grow a long pinky fingernail!

Good luck...the "growing out phase" can get irritating...but hang in there!

Nice to see your smile, again, by the way! :-):loveya:

29. My dear KC2!
Thanks for the tip, sweetie! But I have a regular hairdresser.....

She knows my hair better than I do! We discussed just what the game plan was today......

And we did agree that this "growing out phase" was annoying, and would likely take far too long!

But the payoff will be good.......

Glad you like my smile! That won't change, you know! :loveya:
