PS2 and X-Box, excessive?

Thinking about getting an X-Box for myself for christmas. I already have a PS2 but I've read really good things about the X-Box and it has Project Gotham Racing 2 which looks awesome.

X-box owners, any thoughts?

7. I can sum it up in 10 characters:

Halo & Halo 2

Less summed up: PS2 has more variety and a larger selection, in part due to the larger user base here and in Japan. I'm not familiar enough with the control set-up to compare.

Otherwise: X-Box. It has its online system already up and running, it has better graphics, more and more varied games are being released for it, etc. From the demo I've played, Gotham 2 looks great, but I'm not really into that kind of game enough to give you the juicy details.

8. X-Box is a lifesaver....

There's not enough stress that could possibly build up in any 9 hour or so workday that can't be completely relaxed away by an hour or two of GTA: Vicy City. (Although that's on PS2 also so you don't need an X-Box for that)

Also looking forward to playing Medal of Honor: Rising Sun, but that I think that's on PS2 as well. (I'll finally get to use my LIVE account)

Halo 2 will be something to look forward to, though.

14. Ah, the old graphics debate.

The old playstation was superior to the more powerful N64 and Sega systems despite having the worst graphics of the bunch. I think the same can be said about the current generation of systems, IMHO.

My husband is now caught in Pirates of The Caribbean.
He likes PGR also . I'm really into Amped so far .

we don't have PS2 so I don't really have anything
to compare the xbox too .

18. XBOX is crystal clear with 5.1 surround and HD output

with a couple add-ons. I use the DVD player a lot, although the XBOX itself is kinda noisy.
