What's patriotic about 2 private corporations duelling it out on the ice or on the gridiron?

1. Atlanta Thrashers have made the Anthem a corporate sponsored event
I watched a game there last week and the national Anthem was brought to you by the US Army.

3. How about Toby Keith and..
"I'm proud to be an American" brought to you by Halliburton or Raytheon or the RNC? Works for me. Not.

5. i think it silly as well..
but not near as offensive as the hijacking of the seventh inning stretch. No offense to that irish tenor dude, but I'll take Harry Carey's rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame over gawdless amerika any day.

7. Beyond silly, should be made illegal
I think it was either Proxmire or Fullbright who proposed that to a great hoot and hollar from the fascists quite a while back.

8. We don't have it...
...because, you know, we're such a barbaric, uncivilized country. We deny even the most basic rights, like the right to execute people!

9. Me, too.
It's inappropriate, in my opinion, to cheapen things like our national anthem or gestures of national pride in the presence of grown men playing games for millions of dollars while people go hungry.
