Let the hoarding begin!!!
Beef prices already high, and now there might be mad cow in Washington State.

I'm turning all the closets in the house into meat lockers.

Actually, it's kind of interesting. For the holiday meal, I'm buying a whole beef tenderloin from my former boss the chef at cost, and he's getting it from New Zealand these days at $9 a pound, only about 50 cents more than it cost from Omaha....and this was before this. Go figure.

Ah, beef... we hardly knew ye.

3. Here's a tip for ya...
If you sneak up on them while they're sleeping, you can tip 'em.

4. Unless they rouse.
Then they turn their big cow heads at you and make sounds that are not "moo". Then you apologise. Have sudden respect for the animal's size. Beg for your pardon. Have second thoughts. Not necessarily in this order. Leave, and have a good laugh later.

5. I store them on the hoof.
I have a few out back on the hoof- will butcher as needed. They never see a feed lot, no fear of "mad cow".

8. I lived in England during the mad cow scare of 1994..
I wish I could say I never ate meat, but I did. I ate a few burgers.

I'm fine, of course, like 99.9% of the people who still live there, but I cannot give blood because I lived there for more than six months. I'm tainted!
