What are you getting for Christmas?
I know I'm getting a Playstation 2, some money, and some clothes. :-)

Scary isn't: 20 years-old and still a fanatical gamer. I hooked up my NES this evening and played Kirby's Adventure for about 2 hours, and a couple hours later, my step-dad came down and we played Umjammer Lammy.

1. Not sure about presents.......but the gifts have already begun
Edited on Wed Dec-24-03 03:10 AM by Dover
Just lots of really nice time with family and friends (my favorite thing to do...relaxed sharing around the fire, glass of wine or tea and children crawling on laps, fun cooking together in the kitchen and great food, one on one story time with nieces, .....)

.....know what I mean? It's truly all I need or want.

5. Nothing
not going to do much for Christmas. No family to celebrate with. No kids, parents dead, one sister living in Alaska, the other became a Jehovah Witness. I don't have any obligations to even acknowledge Christmas anymore. It's mostly for kids, anyway.

8. I asked all my relatives
to donate whatever they had planned to spend on me to my Pres. candidate. My 91 year old mother, who's voted straight-line Repub. her whole life, promised not only to donate to the Clark campaign but to vote for him if nominated. Even a great-grandmother can be finally outraged by PNAC. It is already the most satisfying Christmas of my life.

from my husband. I got him a sweater. Those are the only presents I know of. Maybe I should do some shaking under the tree.

But she also said that about 5, and was thankfully (to fans of the series) proven a liar...:-P

18. A Garmin GPS and DVDs
Getting a Garmin Etrex Vista GPS. My old one is an 8 channel bought in '95 so I waaaaay behind the times. Sort of like having a 233mhz computer when everybody else is running 2gig and up. Also have a few new DVDs under the tree.

20. My mom (age 82) has already told us that she couldn't go shopping
this year, so we're all getting checks. (And no, I'm not sponging off a destitute old lady. Her second husband is quite well off.)

We siblings have banded together to get my mom and stepfather a full-color photographic portrait of all us siblings and extended families.

21. Some I know
I already got sent a $50 gift card to Sears and $50 gift certificate from Applebees from my dad. My mother, who I am not speaking with, gave me a $50 gift certificate to Red Lobster and a Christmas cd entitled "Peace". My husband said that his mother got me most of the clothes that I designated as desiring in the J.C. Penny's catalogue. My husband got me at least two books. My boss got me a box of chocolates. Anything else would be a suprise. I prefer suprises.

22. Car insurance
I found out a couple of days ago my insurance was cancelled for nonpayment, even though I had mailed in a check.

I gave myself and lucky family members insurance for Christmas. This evening we plan on singing a hymn of thankfulness for the insurance companies. It's titled: Eat Rotten Turkey and Die You Soulless Sacks of Sparkling Shit

Happy Holidays!

23. As crazy as it sounds, I have to buy my own present
because my husband can't walk very much anymore. So I got myself a car vacuum. Yes, I know it sounds like I'm an eight ball but I really need one. I have already wrapped it and put it under the tree for the traditional gift unwrapping in my family. They think I'm out there anyway so nobody will bat an eyelid I'm sure.

24. Since it has been wrapped
and you haven't kept your eyes on it 24/7, how can you be sure it's still there? THAT will be cause for the surprise and joy when you open it with everyone else around. WOW! It's still here!

happy holidaze!

25. I asked my mother to
make a donation to the Clark campaign for my Christmas present. My sister agreed to go to a Clark house party with me and make a small donation (all she can afford). That's all I wanted this year.

28. Let's see:
I got some great stuff from my students, opened last Friday while we were still at school:

candles
bubble bath
tea
tea pot
candy
cookies
and gift certificates for Barnes & Noble

I got a pair of silver earrings from my mom, and a tube of handcream from my first ex MIL.

I'm hoping for a couple of things from my sons:

A truck wash/detail and new seat cover for my 10-year-old 200,000 mile plus trooper, the 'yota;

A robe and some slippers.
