~If You Want My Love You Got It~

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
I won't hide it.
I won't throw your love away, oo.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
I won't hide it.
I won't throw your love away, oo.

Yes, I thought you were a mystery,
A special love in this crazy old world.
You couldn't see me when I laid eyes on you.

'cause lonely is only a place.
You don't know what it's like...
You can't fight it.
It's a hole in my heart, in my heart.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
I won't hide it.
I won't throw your love away, oo.

You hold the secrets of love in this world.
I'm hypnotized by your e'vry word.
A special face, a special voice,
A special smile in my life.

'cause lonely is only a place.
You don't know what it's like...
You can't fight it.
It's a hole in my heart, in my heart.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
I won't hide it.
I won't throw your love away, ooh.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
I won't hide it.
I won't throw your love away, ooh.

If you want my love you got it.
When you need my love you got it.
You won't hide it.
You won't throw your love away, ooh.

:hi:

Have you seen her face
She's got a face that would stop a clock
And with that face I surely won't stop

To look her in the eyes
But her money's green
Like tea and so's her teeth

But shes still so close to my reach
If I call, if I call at all

Anytime at all
Anytime at all
Anytime at all
Anytime at all

So the story goes
I think I'll take her for a ride
With this moneybag by my side
A giggolo is the only way to go

So I show my face
And I can even fake a smile
But I'm laughing inside all the while
This little girl

She's a joke
She's a joke
She's a joke

Anytime at all
Anytime at all
Anytime at all
Anytime at all

But mommy isn't one of those, I've known her all these years

24. !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !!

When Im down I make a call.
Got the number written on the wall.
First its busy then I try again.
Oh, whos she talking to, could it be him?

I got the number and it starts to ring.
I get excited and I start to dream.
I start to fantasize of memory lane.
Then she answers and she says right way.
She says Im home on my own, home all alone.
So I got off the phone.

(shes tight.) shes ahead of her time.
(shes tight.) shes one of a kind.
(shes tight.) shes a talented girl.
(shes tight.) shes got her head down tight.

I have something got to say to you.
Amnesia and my train of thought.
On the tip, tip of my tongue.
I had a vision when I was young.

You floated in, we floated up.
Through the window and down the hall.
I had a smoke and went upstairs.
Turned the door and opened the key. she spoke...
Im on my own, home all alone.
So I got off the phone.

(shes tight.) shes ahead of her time.
(shes tight.) shes one of a kind.
(shes tight.) shes a talented girl.
(shes tight.) shes got her head down tight.

(shes tight.) shes giving me the go.
(shes tight.) shes giving me the high sign.
(shes tight.) well turn off the lights.
(shes tight.) pull down the shades.
(shes nice, shes tight.) turn on the camra.
(shes nice, shes tight.) and getting ready for action.

Turn off the radio.
Turn on the video.

Been a fan since 1978, when "In Color" came out.

I had a pit pass (photographer) when they played the Independence Rally here in 2001. Probably the best show I've ever seen, and I saw it from right up against the stage — without getting squished.

17. Their new album isn't too bad...
"Rockford" is a return to the power pop glory days -- a much needed one, since the last few albums have been woefully ballady. It's as though Cheap Trick was a moth drawn to "The Flame." ;)

26. The Flame....sigh....
....this song brings back some fond memories.

:loveya:

Another night slowly closes in,
And I feel so lonely.
Touching heat freezing on my skin,
I pretend you still hold me.
Im going crazy, Im losing sleep.
Im in too far, Im in way too deep over you.
I cant believe youre gone.
You were the first, youll be the last.

Wherever you go, Ill be with you.
Whatever you want, Ill give it to you.
Whenever you need someone to lay your heart and head upon.
Remember: after the fire, after all the rain,
I will be the flame.
I will be the flame.

Watching shadows move across the wall,
I feel so frightened.
I wanna run to you, I wanna call,
But Ive been hit by lightening.
Just cant stand up for fallin apart.
Cant see through this veil across my heart, over you.
Youll always be the one.
You were the first, youll be the last.

Wherever you go, Ill be with you.
Whatever you want, Ill give it to you.
Whenever you need someone to lay your heart and head upon.
Remember: after the fire, after all the rain,
I will be the flame.
I will be the flame.

Im going crazy, Im losing sleep.
Im in too far, Im in way too deep over you.

23. Mother told me, yes, she told me I'd meet girls like you.
They just showed up at the university radio station one day announcing they would be giving a free outdoor concert that night. It was an incredible show.

Mother told me, yes, she told me I'd meet girls like you.
She also told me, "St ay away, you'll never know what you'll catch."
Well just the other day I heard of a soldier's falling off
some Indonesian junk that's going round.

Mommy's alright, Daddy's alright, they just seem a little weird.
Surrender, surrender, but don't give yourself away, ay, aaaaaaaay.

Father says, "Your mother's right, she's really up on things."
"Before we married, Mommy served in the WACS in the Philippines."
Now, I had heard the WACS recruited old maids for the war.
But mommy isn't one of those, I've known her all these years.

Mommy's alright, Daddy's alright, they just seem a little weird.
Surrender, surrender, but don't give yourself away, ay, aaaaaaaay.

Whatever happened to all this season's losers of the year?
Every time I got to thinking, where'd they disappear?
When I woke up, Mom and Dad are rolling on the couch.
Rolling numbers, rock and rollin, got my Kiss records out.

Mommy's alright, Daddy's alright, they just seem a little weird.
Surrender, surrender, but don't give yourself away, ay, aaaaaaaay.

Awaaaaaaay.
Awaaaaaaay.

29. What a bummer...they almost didn't play the concert I got to see.....
....it was a Spring Fever outdoor concert at my local college...before they were to play there was a gully washer thunderstorm that turned the footballl practice field into a HUGE mud mosh pit...the rain ended and they came on out and played a KICK ASS show...I stayed as close to the stage as I could get to avoid bein' thrown in the mud...it was WILD...the rain ruined the hellacious buzz I had goin'...but ended up bein' an unforgettable event to say the least! :D

Sorry to hear you missed 'em...that truly sucks! x(

31. Thanks for this thread, jus_the_facts!
As you might know from reading my music posts, I'm also a fan. Any fan of power pop like I am should have their CDs. I also find them to be a little underrated when it comes to the bands that are mentioned as greatest. "Dream Police" right now is my favorite song by them, but it changes. Also, their ballads never got cheesy later in the 80s like some bands' ballads did. Cheap Trick has influenced other bands I like - everything from Veruca Salt to Damone to Green Day. :hi:

festival-type seating on the grass, no chairs. A bong was being passed around the first couple of rows, I have no idea whose it was. The band was at its peak of fame then. Those were fun days!

A great American rock band. I went to the show in Madison Wisconsin during the Dream Police tour. AWESOME!!! One of the best concerts I've ever been to.

And here's a little something extra: My sister remembers when they played at her Prom back at East High in Madison, back before they were famous. Wow!!
