relentless Russian earworm
Edited on Tue Oct-17-06 06:49 PM by idgiehkt
Does anyone here speak or read Russian? This is a song by Yulia Savicheva that I think is so beautiful but I don't can't read the title, if I knew it I could put it in google and get a tranlsation of the lyrics. I heard this in my sleep all last night:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb0fzgAiHY0&mode=related&search=yulia%20savicheva%20%D0%AE%D0%BB%D0%B8%D1%8F%20%D0%A1%D0%B0%D0%B2%D0%B8%D1%87%D0%B5%D0%B2%D0%B0%20%D0%95%D1%81%D0%BB%D0%B8%20%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B4%D1%86%D0%B5%20%D0%B6%D0%B8%D0%B2%D0%B5%D1%82%20%D0%BB%D1%8E%D0%B1%D0%BE%D0%B2%D1%8C

the first two words are her name and the rest is the song title, I cried the first time I listened to it, it is so pretty. Maybe there is someone lurking out there who can translate the title for me....

1. The title means "If Love Lives in the Heart"
Edited on Tue Oct-17-06 06:56 PM by Lydia Leftcoast
:-)

That's all I can figure out from my one year of college Russian many years ago.

2. God Bless You!!!!
Thank you so much, you don't know how much that means to me...most of her other songs have the title in English and some even have subtitles, I think she's like the Russian Kelly Clarkson or something.

:woohoo:

You made my night!

:loveya: :woohoo:

4. I'm trying to listen to it but my kid is practicing his piano
and all I can hear is his terrible clunk clunk clunking. I *think* she has a beautiful voice, though. Will try again in a few.

5. Go to that "russmuss.net" because it appears
to have translations for a bunch of Yulia's songs. I like your earworm!

6. thanks
I didn't even see that. I knew it had to be somewhere around there, lol. It's so weird how my mind can remember that song word for word while I am sleeping even if it's in a different language. Here is a really pretty one by a different (gorgeous) singer, that I don't know the name of either, I think it's Anna something but not sure what, this is the only thing on youtube by her that I've found:

8. NOOOOOOO!!
My arch-nemesis in high school sang that song to win her spot on the homecoming court.

:puke: It kind of ruined that song for me, lol.

to rekindle your appreciation, lol. Told you it'd be bad!

11. That's what you were listening to!
Maybe the British accent fooled you? We had lots of Norwegians where I went to school. About half spoke english with a british accent.

12. okay

it spooked me when I saw the title because of the bad memories. That girl was the worst enemy I've ever had in my life, although when I look back on it the situation was created by me and was totally my fault.

Well, it's strange....lololol.

That is a great song...just like T'pau's Heart and Soul. Wonder what they would have done with that one.

13. That song gives me weird memories too.
I quit college for a while to chase after this guy. While living w/him in Delaware I decided to become a hairdresser. I have the creepiest recollection of working in this cold little barbershop Friday nights with that song floating through the place. That and, "I Know This Love Is True" (can't remember who it was, but it gives me the willies too).

If you made the situation, why is this person still your enemy? Or, none of my business? :)

14. I'm posting "True" by Spandau Ballet
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCOJf50BQlo
That's the closest I can get to that song title you mentioned. She's no longer my enemy at all, I'm sure, we'd probably laugh about it now. She was cheerleading captain and I was just a lowly cheerleader and I accused her of running a cheerleading dictatorship and tried to have her overthrown so we could have a true democracy, but my coup attempt failed and I was persona non grata on the squad for a while after that. It was vewy, vewy important stuff, lol.

15. That is the song I had in mind.
You were a cheerleader, huh? I may have to rethink *you*. Kidding. That sounds like a high school social nightmare... the very worst kind of social nightmare.

16. for the little league and then one year in high school
I was such a trouble maker they didn't let me back on the squad. My high school experience was actually not that bad really because I thought the popular kids were just stupid as hell and I was in a relationship the whole time with a guy, a great guy, one of the best I've ever met. I probably could have just saved myself the last 20 years of trouble if I'd married him. But then I'd just be sitting around right now having a mid-life crisis wondering what I missed, for sure.

19. That was but a diversion.
If you were to know me IRL you'd find my life v. sedate. I've probably mentioned this, but my friend calls my family "the Von Trapp Family Minus Four". This is all about to change of course, and we will become "Family With No Father Living In A Hovel".

You can reproduce my life any night. Get made up, go drinking and flirt. No goddamn skill required.

to understand why I think flirting is a skill, lol. I don't think I have that talent. I think it is a skill. Plus you have a ton of charisma that comes across even through the internet and is really rare. And I love you alot, and think you totally rock.
