I have no idea what crazy-shit pop-up blocker is on this computer, but all I know is that it never seems to block legit pop-ups, especially not the five trillion ads I get spammed with whenever I go to dictionary.com. When I go to a website and click on something that opens in a separate window (in this case, a music file), however, it's all over that evil piece of possible advertising!
Well, okay, I know it's just doing its job. So awhile back I went into the pop-up blocker preferences and made it so that it allowed pop-ups from this particular site, which I visit frequently. Problem solved?
Of course not. It still blocks pop-ups from this site, even though it is on the "allow" list, and even though, at the bottom of the page, it says: "Warning! Pop-ups are allowed from this site." Uh, no, they aren't!
I do have a way of circumventing the blocker....If I right-click on the pop-up window before it can be nixed, it sort of hangs in the balance, and doesn't disappear. However, it creates a nasty "pinging" sound, as I am kinda messing up the computer's normal routine, which really makes listening to the music a bit difficult, though still doable. Plus, if I click on anything else while I have the pop-up window right-clicked, the right-click goes away, of course, and say buh-bye to that window!
:grr:
Sorry. Just had to vent. :D
