Has anyone got or get a Lexmark x75 printer/scanner?
I opened one up this morning and I can print, but so far I haven't been able to scan. I haven't even attempted copy. None of the lights on the unit come on, but I hear it power up. Everything I've tried scanning comes back black.
I'm wondering if it's something I'm not doing right, or, if it's time to box this up and stand in the return line tomorrow. If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong please tell me.

1. Try The Drivers First
Delete them and reload them from the Lexmark web site. If that dosen't work, try a Canon instead.

I've worked at Lexmark as a private contractor and both their greed and attitude sucks to say the very least.

2. Don't know if this will help, but found this online.
PRINTERS LEXMARK X75 : Now, Open the control panel from the start menu. Open the Systemapplet. Select the hardware tab, and there should be a button fordevices - click that. Check to see if you have any Unknown Devices(yellow ?), and if so, delete them. Next, check to see if the deviceis listed under the Image section. If so, delete it. Next, expand outthe USB section by clicking on the + next to it. Check so see if thereis any generic hub listed that corresponds to the Lexmark device. Ifso, delete it. Also, look for the USBPRINT (should be below that) anddelete it if it is there.Plug in the USB cable to the powered on device. The OS should see thisand install support for the Hub. It then should prompt you for theAll-In-One (or something like that) which is the scanner. Click next, tell it you want to search for the drivers, then tell it you want tospecify a location, then browse to the place you extracted thedrivers. There should be a folder called \drivers\scan. This shouldinstall the scanner driver for you. From there, you shouldn't reallyhave to do anything else.

4. we have the X83....and it sucks
when it works, it is great. But network connections disappear from one day to the next and it is impossible to determine what the problem is...my brother the network administrator will take one last look at the damn thing this weekend before we trash it.

7. Thanks
all that info I have on help file. I'm suspicious of the usb cable I'm using, I'll get a new one first, and if that doesn't work then back it goes, and the christmas sales numbers take a bigger dive.
