What's the best place to download music?
Just got an i-Pod from my lovely wife. I got the hang of converting CD's to wav files to download onto the bugger, but I need your professional opinion about where to get music from the web. What are the best sources? The most user-friendly, those you consider to be the best? Thanks.

1. iTunes and the Apple Music Store
Rock solid.

Easy.

Great sounds. Sounds great/

Works with an iPod too. :-)

6. Agree...
I have downloaded a few songs from there, and they always turn out great. Interestingly, before iTunes came out for Windows, there were no Toby Keith songs in the top 100 country downloads. Afterwards, there are probably 7! Hmm...

2. Download LimeWire
from Tucows or Download.com or wherever. Or just Google it.

I asked a question here awhile back about using KaZaa. Someone told me to get with the program and use LimeWire. I tried it, and that person was right...it's an excellent program. Give it a try, and say Merry Christmas to the RIAA while you're at it. :)

I heard that's definetly the best place, and it's not terribly expensive.

Also mp3.com (I think) have loads and loads of free music by artists who just wants to get heard..

Ok great I just saw mp3.com quit that but they have some nice links

4. Want free music?
Download WinMX. I don't know if the songs work for the i-pod, though.

7. To anybody downloading using P2P software
like Limewire etc.

On a PC download a copy of Peerguardian from http://xs.tech.nu/

Blocks some ppl from looking in your P2P port. :D

8. on Rhapsody,
the MP3's are 20 cents cheaper than iTunes. Plus, you can listen to anything on demand.

My vote's for Listen.com's rhapsody
