We live at about 3000ft elevation. It is not too common that we get snow. Coming down pretty hard. It will probably be gone by tomorrow.

3. I'm at about 3200 ft
No snow, but a nasty hail storm going on out there. A horizontal hail storm; the wind gusts are strong. We've lost power 3 times.

7. Our satellite's fine;
but the street's flooded. A common occurance here in the high desert; my street drains right onto the curb in front of my house. Right now there's standing water over the curb, up a rise, and through the front gate in the front; the alley behind the house is underwater, too. All on about an inch of rain. The wind has been blowing steady all day long in the 20-30mph range, with intermittent rain and hail. We don't get enough rain here, so I'm not complaining!

16. STILL COLD!!
Here in Ventura Co. it was actually COLD today. I had to turn the heat on. First time this winter, but there was ice on the car this am. THAT was surreal.

6. where are you in CA?
Edited on Thu Dec-25-03 10:27 PM by mike_c
We have snow on the mountain behind us, probably above 2000 ft, but we're way up in northern Humboldt County. My thermometer says 37 F outside tonight (and we're nearly at sea level), but the hot tub's warming up and the rain is holding off.

on edit: For anyone reading this from anywhere else in the country-- take my word for it: northern California sucks-- you would HATE living here. Really.

9. LOL "northern California sucks" !!! too funny
Northern Cal is the only part of this dogforsaken state worth a damn. The rest of it is a fucking desert. I am in Palmdale and it blows here. On a regular basis.

BTW...i caught the irony and the misdirection. I am not going to move up there. I am just going to move to northern San Raphael. Namely, Eureka.
