But they were pounced on immediately by other freepers, and in those days, by JimRob himself much of the time. There was always a line not to be crossed. The later changes and added mods made the job somewhat easier to keep up with, but the basic self-restraint has always been a notable feature of FR. That's one of the reasons that I focused so much on FR in those days. It ~wasn't~ totally out of hand like so many other politics discussion boards were. Nevermind how nuts the BBS circuit used to get... but that's another topic.

DU has no such restraint.
