Have you ever been to the Dead People Server? It's a real treat...
I know I'm late for Halloween, but people keep kicking the bucket every day, not just October 31st.

If you want to keep track, try Laurie Mann's Dead People Server.

I've been going there just for fun for almost ten years.

She's added a little anti-Republican "go vote" paragraph, which does my heart good.

Enjoy! Believe me, it's addicting!

Remember whats'er name? She played the girl in that dumb movie with whoziss. What ever happened to her? Specifically, is she dead yet?

Here's where to find out. The Dead People Server is a database of interesting celebrities who are long dead or newly dead. They may be "retired" or spaced. DPS tells you who has really Rung Down the Curtain and Joined the Choir Invisible, and who's Just Resting. To help the terminally confused, I've built a Quash Those Death Rumors page.

"Interesting," in the previous paragraph, means "I felt like putting them on this list." Your mileage will vary. If you're curious how I decide to add folks to the list, see the Guidelines.

Don't forget to vote on Tuesday, November 7. Help bring a fact-based government back to America. Let's have a government again that respects the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the rule of law. America is supposed to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people. It's not supposed to be a government of the Republicans, by the special interest groups and for the rich.

1. I found DPS when it was still a pretty small operation.
Gene Rayburn was still alive back then.

2. Yes, it was around in the mid-90s and I did a lot of checking, especially
when rumors got started about this celebrity and that celebrity being dead.

Laurie's done a good job!

3. She has! Especially considering how it's grown in popularity.
It's still one of my favorite sites.

What I Want in Government

I want a fact-based government.
I want a government that listens
to the experts and the scholars
more than political hacks.

I want a government that pays
more attention to serving the
people than serving big business.

I want politicians who understand
the difference between partisanship
and behaving in a non-partisan way.

I want to have a government again
that respects the Constitution,
the Bill of Rights and the
rule of law.

America is supposed to be
a government of the people,
by the people and for the people.
It's not supposed to be
a government of the Republicans,
by the special interest groups
and for the rich.

I plan to help bring an ethical,
fact-based government back
to America on Tuesday, November 7.
I want to help elect public servants,
not people only interested in
serving themselves and their
political and corporate handlers.
That means I cannot vote for
any Republicans. It also means
I will watch everyone I do vote
for very, very carefully.

7. I have a friend that is in a betting pool on who will die in the next year
They have to be famous enough to have an obit in the NYTimes. Cost of admission is $20. You submit a list in December to the pool leader. The winner is whoever gets the most "hits." My friend says people in the pool are very serious. They research potential nominees very carefully.

I find that the supermarket tabloids are very good at scoping out the dying celebs. My friend's list is also replete with names of scientists, writers, etc, as well as celebs and politicians.
