Someone please smack some sense into me
Instead of taking an aerobics class or Tae Bo today I decided to go for a little jog in my neighborhood. I must have been out of my freakin' mind. I thought I was in good enough shape after months and months of working out and doing lots of aerobics. I was SO wrong. My legs feel like they're about to fall off.

Definintely gotta do it again tomorrow.

Somebody help me. :-)

1. Instead of jogging....
why don't you speed walk first and then walk, jog, walk and then
eventually work your way up to jogging. ;)

4. Different muscles, I think...
...Sorta like when I was in great shape from swimming, then went to spend a day behind a shovel. Felt like I was going to keel over. :)

Yeah, run again tomorrow. Shorter distances until you're up to more. Maybe rest a day and take painkillers. ;)

7. I'm sure you're right
just worked different muscles or the same ones in a different way and they aren't too happy about the change. Oh well, they're gonna have to get used to it. They got used to Tae Bo. :-)

6. I did the walk, jog, walk thing today
I knew there was gonna be a lot of walking this time. Altogether I probably did about 5 miles - maybe between a third and 40 percent was actually jogging and the rest walking.

Good advice though. Thanks. :-)

3. I've never smacked anyone and don't plan to...
but really, you should be taking regular walks before working your way up to jogging.

I've just been excersizing my "eating elbow" this week, and yes, I've got some regrets....back to the Atkins diet, and the weight training this week!

8. I did the same...
ate too much and exercised too little while I was at my parents' house for the holidays. Gained about 5 pounds. Which isn't bad considering my goal was to get out of the holidays without gaining any more than that.

Getting back to the gym hurt like hell last night. The walk/jog was a nice change of pace. I had run a little bit at home on Thursday and Friday keeping up with my nephew while he learned to ride his bike and the light went off in my head. I have to change exercise regimens every so often just to keep things interesting and to re-kick-start my metabolism. So I figured...why not jogging? :-)

Good luck getting back to your diet and weight training.

9. I'm gonna go take...
a long hot bath and if I still feel like I'm gonna stiffen up after that the Advil sounds like a great idea. Thanks. *smooches*

10. Do some stretching exercises first!
5-10 minutes just to loosen up......it'll make a world of difference.

:D
