Has anyone ordered "Best of Cher" album?

Everytime I see the commercial, I am tempted. But I wonder if all the songs are great? I'm not super-familiar with her music, only know that I like her hits.
If you don't recommend this one, what do you recommend?

She's been around for 40 years, if you count the Sonny & years, so they should just have only hits. Looks like they have her old Sonny & Cher hits in there too. Let me know if you order it.

Whether it's that string of puke-inducing hits she had in the '70s ("Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves," "Half-Breed," "Dark Lady") or that lame-ass comeback she had in the late '80s/early '90s ("If I Could Turn Back Time," "Just Like Jesse James," her lousy remake of Betty Everett's "It's In His Kiss"), you can pretty well sum up the woman's music thusly: If It's Cher, It's Shit. :puke:

6. I was tempted, but...

I don't want to spend the money just so she can afford another facelift from who appears to be the only plastic surgeon in the universe who can get the procedure right. (just ask Michael Jackson and Joan Rivers, two examples of what happens when the surgery goes very wrong...)

Wasn't fond of her late-80s years, in terms of music videos. Vulgar and tasteless, quite a shocking change and best left forgotten, not commemorated. But the music was good...

I'm far more tempted to get her best of album than that overpriced Beatles tribute album which is nothing more than fanwank, fan pandering, and fan exploitation. Though Cher's latest peddle isn't too far behind...

Most of the songs are great.

I went to the "farewell tour" (yeah, right) in Tampa and it was a great show, sort of a Cher de Soliel with all the acrobatics and ornate sets. Worth every penny, and the girl can sing.

I've never been that crazy about her singing, but you might shift your funds to a Cher movie rental weekend. Her acting is good, often very good. In Robert Altman's COME BACK TO THE FIVE AND DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN, and also in SILKWOOD -- she's very convincing. I've always thought that Tom Cruise should never act, he should produce; and that Cher should never sing, she should act.

Rent those films and see what you think.
