Why do TV shows honoring those who died during the year |

air before the end of the year? Or, the year in review show airs on the 15th of December?? Nothing happens the last two weeks of the year? I guess if you are prominent you don't want to die on New Year's eve or you'll be left off the list and out of TV guides those who passed article.

I watched the Japanese news broadcast on the International Channel this morning, and they had one of those retrospectives. Of course, I hadn't heard of most of the people.

Life Magazine did a special section in their year-end issue addressing this very thing. The section honored those who'd died in December of the year before -- those they'd missed in publishing the previous year's year-end issue.
