Hope song for 2004 "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong
Chin up folks. There is always hope somewhere. We just cannot always see it. Always remember this song. Always.

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world

Oh yeah

3. Satchmo's the greatest, but that song in medley with Somewhere Over
the Rainbow by the late great Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakwiwo'Ole is a super special version as well. It's been in a number of movie tracks. Check it out. And, Happy 2004 to everyone!

9. I would love to hear that...
but you've got to link me up with a title or something.

"Somewhere Over The Rainbow", as per Wizard of Oz, is one of my favorites as well. As Judy aged, she could still belt it out; but nothing replaces her expressions while she does it for the first time.

13. Israel Kamakwiwo'Ole : on album "Facing Future"
also appeared in the soundtrack for the movie Meet Joe Black and was played in the "Dr. Green dies episode of ER." You might recognize it if you hear it. Go to www.towerrecords.com and do a search. You can hear a bit from their soundbyte links.

17. What a great way to descibe that piece...
"A prayer disguised as a song".

Thank You BlondeatLast; you have just added a beautiful new part to my "mental descriptive phraseology".

BTW, I always get misty with that one too. Tears in Heaven, crushed me the first time I heard it. There are a few others as well, but I'll spare everyone. (God, sometimes I hate having a heart).

8. I love that song...
it is so beautifully simple, and equally as eloquent.

Satchmo was indeed an Ambassador of Good Will!

He is sorely missed.

22. Yes...
"I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' 'How do you do'?
What they're really sayin', is "I love you' "

So marvelously eloquent in its beautiful simplicity.
